About The Bundle
You’ll need specialised training to build a flexible, fulfilling career as a freelance proofreader and editor. Knowadays can help!
The bundle contains two courses to fast track your professional development:
- Becoming A Proofreader
- Becoming An Editor
Becoming A Proofreader teaches you the essential skills to be a professional wordsmith. You’ll learn how to fix common spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes. We discuss different styles to ensure that proofreading reflects its intended audience and purpose. We’ll also explain the basics of Microsoft Word so that you can apply these newfound techniques.
Becoming An Editor takes your skills to the next level. We’ll cover the difference between developmental, line and copy editing. Next, we’ll look at how to apply these principles according to structure, content and style. And we’ll thoroughly analyse the different types of editing: academic, business and creative.
Throughout both courses, each module contains plenty of interactive ways to test your skills with fun quizzes and try-it-yourself exercises.
But most importantly, the courses prepare you to do the job well. Whether collaborating on engaging creative documents with authors and publishers, supporting academic research or helping businesses hone their message, our proofreading and editing bundle has you covered!
Uniquely, Knowadays doesn’t just teach you the skills to proofread – we also give you the chance to jump-start your career with our partner company, Proofed.
When you pass our Becoming A Proofreader course with a distinction grade, you’ll begin a paid 20-document trial period with Proofed. After successfully completing the trial, we’ll invite you to proofread longer documents on a fantastic variety of subjects, from quick thousand-word introductions to lengthy dissertations.
A distinction in our Becoming A Proofreader course and a passing grade in Becoming An Editor unlocks enhanced Proofed possibilities. This means fast track access to a broader range of documents, often with higher rates of pay. You’ll earn back the course fee in no time – and then some!
Whether you’re just starting out or want to expand your client base, working with Proofed lets you take what you’ve learned and put it into practice. A passing grade not only means the opportunity to work on real-life documents – and get paid for it – but you’ll also develop a deeper understanding of the nuances of proofreading and editing. For more details, please see our Work Guarantee.
If you’re ready to start a flexible, exciting career as a freelance proofreader or editor, the Becoming A Proofreader and Becoming An Editor bundle is everything you need. And you can save 15% by purchasing both courses together!
As a graduate of both courses, you’ll gain the ability and confidence to tackle writing at all levels of complexity. You’ll be able to expand your portfolio, specialise in specific editing techniques, and work with a broader client base. And you’ll still enjoy the complete freedom and flexibility that freelancing brings. Finally you’ll be able to fit work around your life, and not the other way around.
